Famous Faces Portraits
Once the black-line drawings are complete, Mrs. Livinal begins guiding the students through the shading process. She begins with a brown crayon and points out the darkest areas of the subject's features. She has the students darken the side of the face that is farthest away from the light. She has them shade in the areas around the nose and chin that cast shadows. She then has them use the same brown crayon, but with a lighter touch to continue the shading.
The children are then asked to use a peach color crayon to continue the shading process, working their way all around the face to bring out certain features as pictured below.
